Hydrotherapy is a rehabilitation modality that make use of the buoyancy and resistance of water to facilitate movement and exercise under one-to-one supervision of a physical therapist. The water is kept warm at 34 - 35 degree Celsius, and the depth of the pool is around 100 - 110 centimeters at the lower chest level; hence, no swimming skill is required. The steps down the pool as well as around the pool are equipped with handrails so patient or the elderly can enter and move about the pool safely. Hydrotherapy is a safe and fun exercise providing simultaneous multiple benefits.

Precautions:
Hydrotherapy is not recommended for patients with:

  • hypertension and heart diseases (consult your doctor prior to hydrotherapy)
  • infected or open wounds
  • urinary and fecal incontinence
  • fever, chest tightness, or acute illness
