A weakened body compromises the immune system, which increases the risk of severe infections from certain pathogens. For example, pneumonia, also known as pneumonitis, can occur. There are various pathogens responsible for severe pneumonia, including the Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria, viral agents, fungi, and other bacterial infections that can lead to inflammation of the lung tissue.
Pneumonia is more prevalent in individuals with weakened immune systems, including young children, seniors, and those with immunocompromising conditions. This population is at higher risk for severe symptoms, complications, and even death. Vaccination against pneumonia is crucial in protecting the body from this dangerous disease.
The 20-valent pneumococcal vaccine provides coverage against the Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria, a predominant cause of severe pneumonia.
Who should receive the vaccine?
- Infants from 6 weeks of age onwards
- Individuals aged 50 years and older
- Individuals living with vulnerable individuals in the same household
- Individuals with underlying health conditions, such as chronic heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or immunodeficiency disorders

- The price includes the doctor’s and nursing fees.
- The price excludes treatment expenses for preexisting conditions or complications.
- The vaccination will be administered by doctors or registered nurses of MedPark Hospital only. Vaccination at home or other medical centers is not allowed.
- The price is valid for Thai nationals and expatriates residing in Thailand only.
- The package cannot be refunded, exchanged, or canceled under any circumstances.
