Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) involves administering 100% oxygen to patients under increased atmospheric pressure, typically between 1.8 and 2.4 atmospheres absolute (ATA). Patients are placed inside a large hyperbaric chamber made of crystal-clear acrylic material, providing a spacious and transparent environment. In the chamber, patients breathe pure oxygen through the respiratory tract and distribute it through the circulatory system. The quantity of oxygen delivered is notably higher compared to standard atmospheric pressure.

The benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy include:

  • Facilitating the generation of stem cells.
  • Promoting the growth of tissues and capillaries.
  • Inhibiting and resisting certain infectious diseases.
  • Enhancing the efficiency of white blood cells in combating infections.
  • Improving oxygen circulation to poorly perfused organs.
  • Reducing cellular swelling by constricting blood vessels.
  • Diminishing the size of air bubbles within tissues and blood vessels.
  • Alleviating inflammation in various areas of the body.

This therapeutic approach is an adjunctive, complementary treatment alongside conventional medical and surgical interventions. It is administered under the specialized care of maritime and diving medicine physicians and nursing professionals with specialized training and extensive experience in this field, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and standardized treatment at every stage of the therapy.

Why the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at MedPark Hospital?

Treatment is supervised by experienced preventive medicine physicians with specialized training in maritime medicine certified by the Thai Medical Council. Moreover, they have additional proficiency in diving medicine, especially in providing hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

  • Nurse specialists trained in hyperbaric oxygen therapy possess the knowledge and experience to adjust and control equipment, ensuring safe care and treatment of patients.
  • The hyperbaric chamber functions at pressures up to three times that of the atmosphere, facilitating effective treatment for various conditions.
  • Patients feel at ease during treatment in the high-pressure chamber made of sturdy, see-through acrylic, providing a roomy and unrestricted setting. This characteristic aids in decreasing claustrophobia and enhancing the overall relaxation experience. Patients can also watch television for added relaxation during the treatment.

Specialties

  • Preventing Amputation in Chronic Wound Care
Certain patients, such as those with diabetes, are at risk of developing chronic wounds that can lead to amputation. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a promising treatment option that can help prevent amputation by stimulating the growth of new blood vessels and tissue, improving blood circulation to the wound, promoting wound healing, and reducing swelling and inflammation.
  • Enhancing Recovery from Sports Injuries
With the growing emphasis on health and wellness, HBOT is becoming increasingly popular as a means of self-care for athletes. Under the supervision of specialized physicians and nurses, HBOT can help athletes recover from sports injuries faster and more effectively by accelerating the removal of exercise-induced waste products, such as lactic acid, reducing muscle fatigue, and promoting faster healing and recovery for subsequent workouts.
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for anti-aging
Modern lifestyles frequently result in chronic stress and insufficient rest, leading to an accumulation of stress in the body. These can lead to various health problems, including chronic fatigue, insomnia, a weakened immune system, and increased facial wrinkles caused by sun exposure, heat, and pollution. HBOT can help to combat these effects of aging and promote your overall health and well-being.
