The ranking methodology consisted of an online survey of doctors and medical experts to rank hospitals in 28 countries across the globe, including 2,200 hospitals in Thailand, in the following 11 specialties: cardiac surgery, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, pulmonology, and urology; adoption of integrated AI, digital imaging, telemedicine, robotics, and electronic functionalities.
Newsweek, in partnership with Statista Inc.—the world’s leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider—developed a complex methodology to ensure the quality and validity of the ranking; rankings are determined based on the following four data source inputs:
- Hospital recommendations from medical experts: an international online survey sent to more than 80,000 expert healthcare providers.
- Patient Experience: Patient hospitalization satisfaction surveys conducted by insurance companies.
- Patient-Reported Outcome Measures: Surveys measuring patient perceptions of the impact of health care service on their health status.
- Hospital quality metrics include care quality, patient safety, hygiene measures, waiting times, and treatment qualities.
