Individuals
with no comorbidities are subject to the doctor’s discretion.
Conditions negating eligibility for total knee replacement packages.
- Individuals with organ dysfunction or failure.
- Individuals with uncontrolled medical conditions (subject to the doctor’s discretion).
- Individuals with comorbidities or a high operative risk.
- Individuals with a recent history of acute myocardial infarction (less than 6 months).
- Individuals with HIV infection.
- Other conditions are subject to the discretion of the physician.
The Package Includes
- Doctor’s fee of an orthopedic surgeon, 1-3 surgical assistants (if required), anesthesiologist, and physical medicine and rehabilitation physician.
- Operating theater - 2-hour use of the operating theater, including nursing service, doctor’s assistant, and surgical team for Uni-compartmental Knee Replacement (UKR), and Total Knee Replacement (TKR) packages. - 3-hour use of the operating theater, including nursing service, doctor’s assistant, and surgical team for Bilateral Knee Replacement package.
- Executive Lake View/Executive River View patient room accommodation including standard hospital meals, nursing fee, and hospital service fee. The first night after the operation counts as night no. 1. - 2 Days 2 Nights for Unicompartmental Knee Replacement (UKR) package. - 3 Days 3 Nights for Total Knee Replacement (TKR) package. - 4 Days 4 Nights for Bilateral Knee Replacement Package.
- Medical supplies and equipment as specified in the package.
- Medications as specified in the package.
- Physical and occupational therapy, as specified in the package.
The Package Excludes
- Knee prosthesis (prices vary by model.)
- Expenses from pre-operative evaluation and follow-up appointments.
- Room upgrade or extended hospital stay beyond the package specification.
- ICU admission or requesting extra days of hospital stay.
- Medical consultation fee and/or treatment by internists or physician specialists in other fields not specified in the package.
- Expenses due to emergency surgery or complications requiring the use of special medical devices or extended operative duration.
- Personal expenses such as extra meals for patients or relatives, beverages, phone bills, etc. Any expenditure incurred will be charged accordingly.
- Blood transfusion and pre-operative and postoperative tests, i.e., CBC, X-ray, EKG, prosthetics, etc., are deemed necessary by the doctors.
- Other expenses are not related to the surgery and physical therapy as specified in the package.
- Medications for patients’ preexisting medical condition, medications extraneous to the ones specified, and/or take-home medical supplies.
