Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinic

Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinic at MedPark Hospital is in position to take good care of pregnant women and fetuses like our own relatives. The clinic is outfitted with modern diagnostic equipment and therapeutic instrument, accoutered with amenities in a relaxing, highly private environment designed and built with true understanding of the needs of both the patients and families. The clinic services are divided into two sections: obstetrics and gynecology.

  • Obstetric Department

Pregnancy and bringing a new life into the world are an occasion full of joy, happiness, expectations, and at same time concerns for the unexpected. Therefore, experienced obstetric specialist’s, expert nurses and staff are important persons helping parents and their families prepare for a new family member with peace of mind and comfort.

Staff’s Expertise and Experience

Providing prenatal care for mothers and fetuses and conducting delivery are crucial as obstetricians must care for at least two lives simultaneously. For this reason, MedPark Obstetric Department is staffed by highly experienced obstetricians in providing care for mothers and fetuses having made delivery of difficult, complicated sextuplets pregnancy, and seasoned nursing team and staff with long years of providing obstetric care. They truly understand the state of pregnancy, the concerns and needs of mothers and families, and are always vigilant to handle the unexpected during the pregnancy and labor to achieve a straightforward pregnancy and safe delivery.

In difficult and complex situation where a mother has an underlying disease, such as thyroid disease, hypertension, or preeclampsia, obstetrician will work closely with medical specialist in the related fields as well as the newborn care team to ensure safety of mother and fetus as a top priority.

Every Question Answered to Build Confidence

Parents’ and families’ concerns are important and can influence pregnancy outcome. MedPark obstetric team, therefore, devote ample time in elucidating the particulars of pregnancy, its care, the risks, the correct manner in which one comports oneself to ensure the safety of mother and fetus, and to foster correct understanding and share the same realistic expectation in bringing the new family member into the world safely.

Design for Safety and Comfort

A team of obstetricians provided input in the design of the building and obstetric ward to comfortably serve both the mothers and obstetric staff alike. The private, pre-labor room, affording a magnificent view of the external lush, green garden, help to tone down the stress of the parents and their relatives while waiting for the delivery. The layout of the delivery room and functionally related units are harmoniously conforming. For example, labor room is inter-connected to an adjacent operating room so that cesarean section surgery can be performed right away to reduce the risk in the case of a mother who fails a trial of natural child birth. The newborn nursery and maternity ward rooms are housed on the same floor in close proximity so mothers can feel calm and peaceful and able to see their babies at any time of their liking. Furthermore, examination rooms are fitted with ultrasound machines obviating the need to move expectant mother to other quarter for ultrasound examination. Implementation of remote-monitoring IT system enables real time transmission of patient data to doctors who can give timely recommendations or prescribing treatment for pregnant women in case of emergency or whenever is necessary.

In addition, modern digital database system has been implemented to store patient-level information and analyze the data for research purpose to advance clinical knowledge on pregnancy, fetuses, and conditions that occur during pregnancy. New insight gained from research can enhance better care for mother and her fetus. The system serves as a key foundation for conducting research to advance knowledge that can be passed on to the next generation of doctors and staff.

  • Gynecology Department

MedPark Gynecology Department is prepared to provide care for patients of all ages with gynecological diseases, covering health examination, diagnosis, prevention, and gynecological diseases treatment. The department is well-provided with amenities and facilities to create a highly pleasant, private ambience.

MedPark Hospital is a standout in caring for complex gynecologic diseases providing diagnosis and treatment to difficult, problematic diseases, such as ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, cancer of unknown primary, and postpartum hemorrhage attributable to the preparedness of seasoned gynecologic specialists with years of experience working as a multidisciplinary team, supported by cutting-edge technology of the laboratories, medical equipment, and critical care room aiming for the highest patient safety and fastest recovery.

Teams of gynecologic specialists adopt a treatment approach that uses new technology in diagnostic screening and utilize surgical technique that minimize tissue trauma, such as small incision surgery, endoscopic surgery, incisionless surgery, ambulatory surgery, and ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) care pathway, which reduces surgical stress response; the care pathway is an integrated continuum of taking care of patients both before and after surgery. This minimizes tissue injuries, optimizes physiologic function, and facilitates patient recovery.

Cervical and ovarian cancers are lurking silent dangers that lead to increased mortality. For this reason, MedPark gynecologists encourage women to recognize the importance of getting regular screenings for early detection and treatment as well as diseases prevention. Our oncologic gynecologists are skillful in diagnostic screening and adept at treating gynecological cancers with various approaches; for instance, thin-prep, a new standard of cancer screening test for detection of early-stage cervical cancer, genetic testing for familial cancers, diagnosis and treatment of patients with cancer of unknown primary which demands a multidisciplinary team approach of oncologists.

Additionally, ICG (Indocyanine green) is utilized intra-operatively to enhance visualization of cancerous tissue and for more accurate and safer surgery.

Convenient Without Privacy Issues

MedPark Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic is poised to provide a different and unique patient experience as our teams of obstetric and gynecologic specialists played a big role in co-planning and designing the clinic from the very beginning, paying attention to every detail from the examination rooms, operating rooms, delivery rooms, changing rooms, various service counters, to the selection of high-quality, well-suited medical equipment based on detailed knowledge and thorough understanding of the patient’s needs.

For obstetric and gynecologic examination rooms, the importance of privacy is often overlooked or not adequately addressed; whether it be entering or leaving the examination room or changing room, both function rooms are designed and segregated in a secluded area instead of simply shielding with curtains.

Many women are leery and disquiet about pelvic examination due to unpleasant experience with traditional fixed gynecological examination table and stirrups. MedPark acquired innovative adjustable pelvic examination units that start from a sitting position and then morph automatically into proper examination posture for effortless positioning and maximal patient comfort. Elderly patients or patients with mobility limitations will gain more comfort with no pain as the table top is lined by modern cushioning materials.

Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic at MedPark Hospital is at the ready to provide empathetic, attentive care for women, mothers and their fetuses as if our own relatives. Patients will feel at ease with the specialist staff team, high-quality modern equipment, a comforting, and high-privacy ambience, all assembled for the safety of every life we take care of.
