Reinforcing Leadership in "Breastfeeding Clinic.”

Bangkok - MedPark Hospital has received the prestigious IBCLC Care Award 2023, cementing its position as a leading institution committed to providing exceptional breastfeeding care. The highly skilled medical professionals of MedPark Hospital have completed the rigorous certification process by the globally recognized International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) and the International Lactation Consultant Association® (ILCA®). The official announcement was on May 23, 2023, through the website www.ibclccare.org.

The IBCLC Care Award is an accolade bestowed upon healthcare facilities worldwide that prioritize maternal and newborn cares with a dedicated team of lactation consultants certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLCs). To earn this recognition, hospitals must demonstrate unwavering commitment and provide the necessary resources to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding.

Thailand's first-ever achievement of this award is noteworthy. Nearly 36,000 professionals from 131 countries worldwide have successfully passed the examination. MedPark Hospital's pediatric team takes great pride in having three members certified lactation specialists:

Dr Sutheera Uerpairojkit expressed her pride, stating, "I am delighted and proud of our team, including the doctors, nurses, and the management, who recognized the importance and provided us the opportunity to achieve this award. Despite having only nine days to prepare for submission before the application deadline, we were fortunate to have complete data that met the award criteria. We carry ongoing research and collected data on mothers who gave birth or sought breastfeeding consultation since the opening of MedPark Hospital. We have had successful cases of exclusive breastfeeding for up to six months without nutritional supplements or water, achieving an impressive 88% success rate, the highest in the country. Moreover, we have three doctors certified as international lactation consultants, assuring our team is ready to assist and support mothers to breastfeed their babies successfully."

Dr. Vimonmas Promsaka Na Sakolnakorn added, "I am overjoyed and proud because I know that every team member from every department has dedicated their full physical and mental efforts; this is truly a team accomplishment."

"I am proud of the award we have achieved on this occasion. It inspires me to address the challenges faced by mothers who seek advice, their concerns, and misunderstandings about breastfeeding. I am motivated to assist mothers in successfully breastfeeding their babies. This experience has driven me to study the practice of breastfeeding in earnest and attain international certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I am honored to be part of the team that has contributed to MedPark Hospital's achievement of the IBCLC Care Award 2023. I take great pride in being a member of this team, dedicated to promoting successful breastfeeding."- Dr. Kanogorn Jangjaroonroj.

In addition to the "Breastfeeding Clinic" (Pediatric Center), MedPark Hospital also has a team of knowledgeable and experienced doctors and nurses who provide consultations and teach various techniques to assist mothers in preventing and resolving breastfeeding-related issues. These include sore nipples, low milk supply, latching techniques, breastfeeding positions, breast pumping, managing engorgement, feeding twins, bottle preference issue, blocked milk ducts, increasing milk supply, mastitis treatment, and non-surgical breast abscess treatment.

The IBCLC Care Award 2023 is a prestigious award that reflects the dedication and commitment of our healthcare professionals, highlighting MedPark Hospital's mission to provide exceptional patient care. It signifies their unwavering physical and emotional efforts in treating and caring for patients and their continuous pursuit of medical knowledge through continuing education.
