MedPark Hospital reaffirmed its leadership in world-class specialized healthcare as Asst. Prof. Dr. Jirayos Chintanadilok, a sleep medicine specialist and geriatrician at MedPark Hospital, was invited to speak at the Global Innovation Forum 2026. Held under the theme "Frontier Innovation: Innovation Industrial Linkage towards Innovation Nation," the forum was organized by the National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) (NIA) at the Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai in Bangkok on Friday, 12 June 2026.

This invitation reflects the national recognition of the expertise and contributions of MedPark Hospital's physicians. The forum brought together leading executives and experts from a wide range of industries to advance Thailand's transformation into an innovation-driven nation.

Leveraging Nearly Three Decades of U.S. Healthcare Experience to Advance HealthTech Excellence

During the panel discussion, "Thailand Innovation Industrial Linkage from Research to Market Commercialization", which explored strategies for translating research into commercially viable innovations, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jirayos Chintanadilok represented the healthcare sector and articulated his vision on "HealthTech Innovation Center: Advancing Healthcare Through Cutting-Edge Technology and Centers of Excellence." Drawing on nearly 30 years of experience in the U.S. healthcare system, Dr. Jirayos provided insights into the evolution of healthcare technology— from paper-based to electronic medical records (EMRs), which enable more accurate analysis of clinical outcomes. This is essential for attracting world-class innovations to develop Thailand's healthcare ecosystem.

In addition, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jirayos shared his perspective on one of the key challenges in advancing Thailand's vision of becoming a global medical hub:

"One of Thailand's greatest strengths today is that the private sector has shown tremendous alertness and keenness. However, each sector still operates in silos, with limited integration. As Thailand continues to position itself as a medical tourism destination, safety must remain our highest priority. Yet the emergency medical services available to international visitors are still not fully integrated with Thailand's national emergency response system. By connecting these systems, we can better support the sustainable, high-quality growth of the country's medical tourism sector."

Innovation Must Be Grounded in Sound Medical Principles to Deliver the Best Possible Treatment Outcomes

Another key message from Asst. Prof. Dr. Jirayos -- medical innovation should never be driven solely by commercial interests. Instead, it must be firmly grounded in the safety and benefit of patients.

"In medicine, innovation must always follow sound medical principles. When a patient comes to us, everything begins with a careful clinical assessment to identify the underlying problem, leading to an accurate diagnosis and the most appropriate treatment. This approach ensures the most effective use of healthcare resources. Innovation is not a tool for generating revenue; rather, it should improve the delivery of care by making healthcare more efficient and safer for patients."

Three Key Strategies to Accelerate Thailand's HealthTech Innovation: A Call to "Transforming Ideas into Action"

In his closing remarks, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jirayos said that turning Thailand’s healthcare innovation into tangible outcomes requires a national roadmap developed collaboratively by all stakeholders, including the private sector, government, international organizations, and professional associations. He highlighted the need for workforce development through interdisciplinary collaboration between universities and industry, including joint initiatives that bring together medicine, engineering, and food science. He also emphasized integrating advanced technologies, such as Medical Simulation Centers, into healthcare education and training, while strengthening the startup ecosystem to help entrepreneurs refine and scale their innovations. He stressed that speed of execution is central to success.

"We need to move much faster. Suppose we think about an idea today without acting on it. In two years, it will be practically pointless, as the idea may no longer be relevant. Progress requires leaders, partners, and executors, and we already have all of those in place. I hope today's discussion will serve as another catalyst for turning today's idea into tomorrow's tangible reality."

Participation in this national forum underscores MedPark Hospital's commitment to advancing Thailand's healthcare innovation ecosystem. MedPark Hospital is well-equipped to integrate advanced medical technologies with clinical excellence to deliver the highest standards of patient care, particularly for complex conditions, and ultimately elevate Thai healthcare to global standards.
