Laser Cane: A Thai Innovation for Parkinson’s Disease Patients
MedPark Hospital, in collaboration with the Chulalongkorn Centre of Excellence for Parkinson's Disease and Related Disorders, introduced innovative technologies and treatment approaches for patients with Parkinson’s disease at the press conference “Laser Cane: A Thai Innovation for Parkinson’s Disease Patients,” at the Forum, M Floor, MedPark Hospital. Prof. Dr. Roongroj Bhidayasiri, Head of the Neurology Center at MedPark Hospital and the principal innovator behind the Royal Laser Cane, together with Dr. Urairat Siriwatvejakul, Head of the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Center at MedPark Hospital, provided an in-depth discussion on rehabilitation strategies for patients with Parkinson’s disease and those experiencing gait-freezing symptoms.
The event also included the distribution of the Royal Laser Cane and hands-on training for participating patients, at no cost, made possible with the support of the Fundraising Bureau of the Thai Red Cross Society and the Department of Seniors, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
