Currently, there is no proof to identify that food is able to prevent or cure cancer. Generally, cancerous specialists do not recommend avoiding any type of food including any type of meat. In addition, the nutrients in meat are irreplaceable and can be rarely found in other kinds of foods. Therefore, if the patients choose themselves not to eat certain types of meat, they are advised to consume other kinds of meat or egg instead since we need nutrients from different types of meat. The nutrients in meat are also important to help strengthen you to better tolerate the side effects that may result from radiation or medication. It will help repair and strengthen the destroyed spots to recover to the original condition faster.

Foods that the patients with cancer should eat may include:

  • Meat and eggs which will provide protein, vitamins and minerals that are used by the body to repair the skin, hair, muscles and other parts of the body
  • Milk and butter which contain protein, vitamins and calcium
  • Fruits and vegetables which contain important vitamins and minerals that the body needs
  • Rice and bread that contains vitamins, minerals and some proteins

Sometimes the patients may lose their appetite, feel full easily or have unusual difficulty of chewing and swallowing. You may also feel as if the taste is lost. Therefore, on the days when you feel like eating food, take the opportunity to eat as much as you can in order to be used as a substitute for when you eat less. However, if you do not have a craving for food, you are advised to eat more often but not much at a time.

You should drink a lot of water for around 8-10 glasses a day, especially when using the medication. This is because some kinds of medication may affect the kidneys and the bladder. The drinking of water also includes regular water, juice, and soup.
