What is cancer?

Cancer occurs when the cells within the human body divide abnormally. The body cannot control the development of the cancer cells. If the patient does not receive appropriate treatment,  the cancer cells will spread fast and destroy the surrounding tissue including neighboring organs. Moreover, they may spread through blood vessels and/or lymphatic passages to other organs. When there are more cancer cells, those organs will be destroyed and unable to function that may lead to death.
