Infectious Diseases Center

MedPark Hospital has the expertise and know-how to diagnose and treat patients with wide-ranging infectious diseases affecting every body region and organ. We specially focus on the severe, difficult-to-treat infections caused by multidrug-resistant microorganisms, contagious diseases, and systemic infection.

With the mission to be a leading quaternary care hospital with the capability to efficiently and effectively care for a volume of patients with high acuity and complex clinical problems, caring for critically ill patients is our primary emphasis. MedPark Hospital selects physician staff recognized as expert infectious disease doctors committed to providing exceptional infectious-disease care and leading-edge treatment for adults and children based on the most current research in a safe environment.

For this reason, caring for critically ill patients is our primary objective. In addition to the highly specialized medical doctor team and other health care professionals, our strength lies in 130 critical-care beds forming the highest regional single critical care bed unit. The unit is built with sophisticated negative pressure rooms to isolate critically ill patients with contagious infectious diseases and fully equipped with modern monitoring and lifesaving equipment.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Mondej Sookpranee and the infectious disease specialist teams adhere to the principle that aims to develop infectious disease prevention processes in the critical care unit at higher than JCI standards by proactively working and continuously improving the diagnostic, treatment, and service effectiveness for the maximum safety of the patients.

The infectious specialist doctors sharing the same clinical practice approach devote their best efforts to treating patients no matter who the patients, what their age or conditions are, to ensure the highest survival chance. The doctor must never stop helping patients and exert endless efforts.

The repercussion of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic impels MedPark to raise the hospital-acquired infection safety standard another notch. At the same time, a guideline for patient care in the COVID pandemic era is instituted to ensure higher safety for patients and health care professionals because caring for critically ill COVID patients is attended to by an elevated risk of infection.

In addition, our infectious disease specialists have instituted emergency preparedness plans to cope with emerging diseases and re-emerging diseases, which lies at the heart of our infectious disease control management.

At MedPark Hospital, our clinical specialists never stop researching innovative medical solutions crucial for the development of medical science that will set a new standard in the diagnosis and treatment of patients at the national and international level, increasing the chance to save the life of patients afflicted with infectious diseases.
